Bees Wax Wares

*********************************

Find a local Bee Keeper to see about getting your Bees Wax cheaper.

If not you can get it from Brushy Mountain Bee Company online.

Gatherings: Molds, Beeswax, Cooking Oil Spray,

brown or black candle wax dye (or a lot of crayons in those colors),

Crock Pot, ladle, Cinnamon & Clove, Wooden Spoon, Zip Lock Bag & Scented Oils of your choice.

Place wax, oils, candle dye in crock pot and let melt.

Stir to mix together.

Spray molds lightly with cooking oil spray

Take ladle and fill molds to the brim.

If making ornaments this is when you place your wire or string in back of them so it sets up hard.

Let stand till firm.

Remove from molds

Place cinnamon & ground clove in zip lock bag

Put waxed item in bag and rub cinnamon and clove mixture into it.

Remove from bag you have a grubbied wax ware.

Note: this is the same beeswax method you would use to dip candles etc in to make them look beezgrubbied.

Made from an old Aluminum sheep cake pan.

This sheep is solid both front and back.

Made from the front side of the sheep cake pan.

Took an old wooden sifter sieve and tucked sweet Annie all around it,

Then nestled the sheep inside.

Early Flicker Lights

*********************************

Gatherings: flicker lights, pillar candle, beeswax or regular candle paraffin wax,

brown candle dye or brown crayons, scented oil of your choice,

crock pot, knife & wooden spoon, metal pan, cinnamon and ground clove.

Optional: sand.

Flicker Lights: can be bought at the Dollar Tree or any craft supply store.

Place beeswax or paraffin into crock pot with dyes ,scented oils and let melt.

(note: if you want the grubby grainy look add some sand to your mixture.)

Take a store bought pillar candle & light the wick & let it burn down a bit.

Once the center is melted some take a spoon and scoop out the center

big enough for the plastic flicker light to sit down in the candle.

Turn off crock pot and let wax sit a bit.

Once it starts to thicken some dip candle and flicker light into wax.

Immediately place candle & flicker light into metal pan with ground spices

and rub into the wax to give it that spicy grubby look.

Place flicker light when dry inside of pillar and you have a wonderful ware to sit around your home.

If you want to accessorize your candle take coffee dyed cheese cloth

and tie around candle with a piece of sweet Annie tied to it, then place in old pie pan for that added touch.

Note: you can also do old baby jars this same way and sit a flicker light down inside them.

Tip: If you don’t want to mess with the wax take spray adhesive

and spray your candles/jars & flicker lights and dip into spice mixture.

Grubby Early Candles

*********************************

I used the same method as above to grubby this 4 wick pillar candle.

Tore a strip of homespun and a strip of cheese cloth

Twined hemp cording around the candle

then accented with a tiny bunch of sweet Annie

and a prim tag that says Early Lighting.
